BASTILLE CONCERT 2014: The Melbourne Show!

After falling in love with the band in the past year and then hearing about a Melbourne show in mid December last year I was jumping to go. Unfortunately with no friends who liked the band I was too scared to go alone. However soon enough Gen had found her way to the light! So in february this year I convinced her and Ellie to come with me to the concert! YAY!

The concert was held at Festival Hall on the 15th of June. We got tickets for the floor so we got to be right up and close to the stage.

Dinner was obviously a quick trip to Nandos in Harbourtown for some chips which we had to stuff in our face as we walked to the venue. But the cool thing was I actually got to see the Melbourne Star up close and personal which I've never done. May just grab some friends and go on one day...

Foxes opened for them and to be honest I had only known of her stuff from collaborating with Fall Out Boy and Zedd so I was eager to hear some of her own stuff. What can I say, she was AMAZING! I loved her outfit and will definitely be checking some of her other stuff out. I really loved Youth! She actually reminds me a bit of Lea Michelle, aside from her looks, but also by just the way she performs and her voice.
Getting excited in the mosh!

Bastille came on soon after that and my word! There are no words for how amazing the show was!

In a photo above you can see a shot of the audience with torches lit up which everyone did during Oblivion and it was amazing to see and the photo really doesn't do it justice. It was just so cool to look around at all the lights.

I did record some footage but I wanted to be in the moment and enjoy it more than worrying about the shot and spend the night seeing it through a phone screen so I don't think it's the most stable, high quality stuff. I'll include a little bit of it in my June vlog and might link to some full song videos.

I'm going through some serious PCD (post concert depression) and am just scrolling through tumblr looking at Dan Smith's beautiful face. I may have also made a cheeky merch purchase so shhh.....

If you haven't checked out any of Bastille's stuff and really love the alternative genre do check them out on Youtube and iTunes!

Hope you enjoy the blog post guys and sorry for being MIA recently :(

If you had the chance, who would you be jumping to see in concert?
