Review: Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick

Well hello everyone! It's review time and this time it's the new Bourjois Color Boost Lipsticks. Bourjois has released these in the new Sixties Remix Collection and they are comparable to the Clinique Chubby Sticks and the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains.

I heard about these from Kate and I was initially disappointed because I assumed that once again Australia would not be able to get our hands on it for another year. However the next time I visited Priceline, there they were on the stand! I raced over and picked up three of the four colours (the fourth one being an orange colour which I find doesn't suit me) and have been wearing them on rotation since. The three colours I picked up are Red Sunrise, Fuchsia Libre and Peach on the Beach.

Red Sunrise is vibrant raspberry and cherry mixed colour. Fuchsia Libre is a pinky fuchsia colour (obviously) with cool under tones. Peach on the Beach is a soft peach colour (obviously).

The lipsticks definitely live up to their name in terms of gloss and shine, when applied they are so much glossier than the Revlon Balm Stains and more hydrating. The colours are very pigmented and buildable from a sheer gloss look to bold opaque lipstick look. They do leave a stain on your lips after they wear off a bit which is good so you don't have to be reapplying a lot during the day. They are also a product that doesn't need a mirror for you to apply which is great for on the go and has a SPF 15 which is good for summer.

There are a few flaws as with every product that of course I need to mention too. The glossiness wears off generally after an hour which isn't great when the product promises "glossy finish lipstick". Also the packaging promises 10 hour comfort and hydration which I don't think lasts ten hours, the product doesn't even last 10 hours on your lips. The last thing is that the colour selection isn't great; with only four colours in the range it does cover the four bases of a fuchsia pink, orange, nude and a red but the nude isn't a true nude and the red is more raspberry than red so if Bourjois brought out a few more staple colours it'd be a great product for everyone's makeup bag.

Bourjois is only stocked in Priceline stores in Australia at $15 each so they are a steal for Bourjois brand and a drugstore lip product. Check them out here.

But that's all I wanted to say today, have you tried the Bourjois Color Boost Lipsticks? How have you got on with them?

Talk to you all next time!
